From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 30): Navy relief ship arrives in Tagbilaran, Bohol

The BRP Dagupan City (LC-551), a logistic ship of the Philippine Navy (PN) carrying around 361 tons of relief goods, has arrived in Tagbilaran City in quake-battered Bohol province on Wednesday morning.

PN spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Gregory Fabic said the ship arrived off Tagbilaran Pier around 7:55 a.m.

The relief items were collected from different government and non-government organizations.

Aside from the relief goods, the BRP Dagupan City also transported personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Philippine National Red Cross.

The PN also sent 16 personnel from Naval Construction Brigade or Seabees which will be participating in the construction of seven makeshift hospitals for seven towns of Bohol that were greatly affected by the earthquake.

Fabic said the PN personnel will also be participating in the repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructures in several areas.
