From InterAksyon (Jul 6): 2 Marines hurt in Sulu roadside blast



Two Marines were wounded in a roadside bombing in Sulu Saturday morning.

Colonel Rodrigo Gregorio, spokesman of the Armed Forces’ Western Mindanao Command, said the incident in Sitio Tuwak, Barangay Bonbon, Patikul happened around 6:30 a.m. as troops of Marine Battalion Landing Team 11 and the 2nd Marine Brigade were on their way to Barangay Tagantangan to prepare the area for a medical mission.

The injured personnel were identified as Sergeant Almandres Muhajil and Corporal Antonieto Docdoc.

The M35 truck the soldiers were riding and their V150 armored personnel carrier escort were slightly damaged.

Grogorio said Docdoc had to be airlifted to the KHTB Station Hospital in Barangay Busbus for further medical treatment while Muhajil “only suffered slight injury.”
