‘Pacific Angel’ helps residents in Neg. Or

From the Visayan Daily Star (Mar 5): ‘Pacific Angel’ helps residents in Neg. Or

The Operation Pacific Angel 13-1 humanitarian mission started yesterday and benefited around 500 residents at the Osmeña Park in Tanjay City, and another 500 at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The joint outreach is undertaken by the United States Air Force Pacific command, headed by Lt. Col. Alvin Alana, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, with 302nd Brigade commander, Col. Francisco Patrimonio, as point person in Negros Oriental, the US Embassy, Unites States Agency for International Development, local government units and non-government organizations.

A color-coding scheme was implemented for the smooth conduct of the activity, with the coupons pre-distributed to cluster barangays. The beneficiaries were pre-identified by the barangay health workers, Marietta Jambora of the Oriental Negros Children’s Advocacy Network said.

The mission includes medical, dental, optometry and engineering programs as well as subject-matter expert exchanges, and will be conducted in the two areas until March 9.
