One thousand two (1002) new recruits successfully graduated for the 4th Basic Military Training Course Commencement Exercises under the 110th Base Command organized by the base Training and Education Department (TED) of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) last March 05, 2013 at Camp Othman Bin Al-Affan, Limbalod, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao.
Among the graduates, Seventy Five (75) of them belong to the Bangsamoro Women Auxiliary Brigade (BWAB), an especial brigade organized to train Moro Women Combatants. The Committee on Attendance reported that 11,846 visitors within 110th Base Command’s AOR graced the said historic event.
The head of the Security personnel (who spoke on condition of anonymity) detailed in the ground, told to Luwaran.com that at least 1,600 BIAF members were deployed to secure the area. “Although coordination with the 602nd Brigade of the Philippine Army in Carmen Cotabato was properly made, we didn’t station troops on the road going to Limbalod in Barangay Ugalingan, as a sign of respect to the Philippine authorities, instead, we put our first road blocking two kilometers away from the venue”, he added.
The BIAF General Staff delegation was headed by GS admin Toks Ibrahim, GS Morsid Ustadz Abdulkadir Abdullah, GS TED Sabs Campong, GS Legal Council Padido Pigkaulan and BIWAB Brigade Commander Madam ling Gumander.
In his opening remarks, Junar Al-Hajj Mustapha, the 110th Base Commander, thanked all the mujahiddeens and mujahidats for their presence and urged them to listen attentively to the General Staff for instructions and guidelines.
“As Mujahideen and Mujahidat you are mandated to obey Allah, his messengers and those who are bequeathed with authority, which in our case is the MILF leadership under our ameer (leader) brother Mujahid Al Hajj Murad Ebrahim, Ustadz Abdulkadir Abdullah,the GS Morsid, said: “We have to follow our leaders in the MILF including our negotiators under brother Iqbal with all sincerity for we are sure that Insha Allah (God willing) they will never lead us astray”, he added.
For his part, Thoks Ibrahim reminded BIAF and BIWAB members to strengthen military forces and be part of MILF’s agent of change.“As a mujahid, you must strengthen the intellect, disciplines that you possess now because the whole world is now taking a closer look with us. The signing of FAB last October 15, 2012 put as in the map of the world. Just recently, our Ameer was invited in Turkey, Cairo and other countries because at this point MILF is very fragrant in the eyes of the International communities and the Muslim world”, he explained.
Meanwhile, BIAF GS legal Counsel Atty. Padido Pigkaulan gave orientation on International Humanitarian Law and discussed updates on the recent GPH – MILF talks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Atty Pickaulan underscored that the signing of the annexes on the modalities and implementation of agreements by both panels is considered as a new milestone in the era of our struggle. “Our negotiators are spending sleepless nights with all pressures for the sake of our future generations so as the BIAF and BIWAB members. You must exercise military discipline at the highest level so that you will serve as model and inspiration”, he advised to the graduates.
