From the Philippine Information Agency (Jan 11): Army conducts security awareness campaign to Gigaquit students

The Speaker’s Bureau Team of the 30th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army has conducted a security awareness campaign for the students of Gigaquit National High School (GNHS) in Gigaquit, this province. The activity was aimed to enhance the security awareness of the students and the teachers in connection with the present insurgency problem in the country and encouraged them to support and be an active partner in every peace and development activities in their respective communities. It also aimed to inform them about their significant roles in the implementation of the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines called “Bayanihan.”

The security awareness campaign of the 30IB, PA through the conduct of school symposium in different public and private high schools in the province is part of the IPSP and peace development activities of the unit within its area of responsibility. The peace development activities of the unit carry out the IPSP Bayanihan program of the AFP which advocates the collaboration of efforts of all the stakeholders in the society to include the teachers and the students in order to achieve a peaceful environment that is conducive for a sustainable development.
