From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 3): Military units in Pablo-affected
areas to help in disaster prevention measures -- AFP
The Armed Forces Monday said all military units and personnel stationed in
regions on the path of Typhoon Pablo will assist local disaster response outfits
in their possible rescue and relief missions. "All units in the areas affected by Pablo are ordered to support local
disaster management units in possible rescue and relief missions," AFP
spokesperson Col. Arnulfo Burgos, Jr. said.
He said such moves are standard for the military, considering the AFP has a
support role in the government's disaster prevention and response mission......
