From the Philippine Information Agency (Nov 19): NPAs burn 2 poultry structures, former army command post in Surigao del Sur

Two poultry structures and a former command post of the Philippine Army on Thursday were reportedly burned by an identified number of suspected New People’s Army rebels in two separate incidents in this province. Police Provincial Office Information Officer Ranilo Malong said the two incidents lasted for about an hour. The two poultry houses are owned by 2nd District Congressman Florencio Garay of this province.  As per report from 75IB CMO Officer Lt. Jolito Borces, he said the NPAs have been demanding a revolutionary tax but the owner of the establishment refused to give.  Borces also added that the two poultry structures burned down affected six families who are working and now jobless after the incident. Meanwhile, Malong said police operatives in coordination with the Philippine Army are now alerted and conducted checkpoints to run after the perpetrators.
