From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 20): Isabela gives financial aid to 7 slain, 8 wounded soldiers

The family of the seven slain soldiers, including the wounded, will receive financial assistance from the provincial government as a show of support to troops defending the state against aggressors. Lawyer Noel Manuel Lopez, Isabela administrator, said the provincial government, led by Gov. Faustino Dy III, found it necessary to give financial assistance to the slain and wounded soldiers, wherever they might have been based in Isabela. Lopez said the soldiers, assigned in the province, deserve the assistance from the provincial government. Lopez said the seven slain soldiers’ families will be receiving each P20,000 while the eight wounded soldiers will be receiving P5,000 each. Soldiers of the 502nd Reconnaissance Company of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army were conducting security operations at Mabbayad, Echague when they encountered armed groups.
