BANAYBANAY, Davao Oriental - Some 100 former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) combatants and about 60 Army troops converged last week and planted close to 1,500 trees at Barangay Pintatagan here, it was reported yesterday. The Moro contingents were led by Commander Amroden Serabo, his deputy Jamalon Darupo and liaison Florencio Buaya of the MNLF National Unified Command’s 3rd Expeditionary Force, while the soldiers were headed by Army 1Lt. Hermie Montelibano under Battalion commander Col. Francisco Lorenzo, Jr., Laons said. The groups planted “Bitanghol“ trees at a 400-hectare land in Barangay Pintatagan, some 440 meters away from the village’s coast, where a conflagration gutted several trees earlier, said Lanos, who serves as media liaison of the provincial government here.
