From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 15): NPA rebels torch cargo truck in
Capiz
Thirty armed men believed to be New People's Army (NPA)members torched a cargo
truck in Brgy. Quinabonglan, Maayon, Capiz.
Police report over the weekend said at least 30 heavily armed rebels set
ablaze the Reo truck owned by Mrs. Erlinda Alcazaren of Poblacion, President
Roxas, Capiz.
An informant said the cargo truck was on its way to Brgy. Quinabonglan to get
sacks of corn when four suspects including a woman accomplice, brandishing
high-powered firearms flagged down the vehicle.
The suspected rebels then boarded and commandeered the truck and sped toward
a secluded area in Brgy. Quinabonglan where other armed men waited.
From there, the armed group ordered the truck driver Marcelo Denosta and his
crew to disembark before they poured gasoline on the truck and set it ablaze.
The rebel group reportedly led by Romulo Gangoso alias Ka Regan immediately
left the area after the incident....
