From Panay News (Jan 23, 2024): 595 3ID soldiers get promotion (By Ruby P. Silubrico)

ILOILO City – A total of 595 enlisted personnel from the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) received their new higher ranks.
Of the number, 314 were promoted to the rank of corporal while 281 others were promoted to the rank of sergeant.
The donning ceremony was held on Monday, Jan. 22, at the 3ID headquarters in Jamindan, Capiz and was led by 3ID commander Major General Marion Sison and assistant division commander Brigadier General Leonardo Peña.
Sison congratulated the newly promoted personnel, several of whom were part of the troops leading the 3ID’s successful campaign against insurgents in 2023.
“The 3ID will sustain the gains, continue the momentum, and focus on the campaign to dismantle the remaining guerrilla fronts in the Panay Front and Central Front of Komiteng-Rehiyon Panay. However, sometimes there were setbacks, but this will inspire us to continue our mission to eliminate and dismantle all existing guerilla fronts in Western and Central Visayas,” Sison added./PN
