The New People’s Army issued separate statements claiming responsibility for the deaths of alleged military informants in Siaton and Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental.

Ka Estrella Banagbanag, spokesperson of the NPA Southeast Negros Guerilla Front, claimed that they imposed death penalty on James Acab in Brgy. Napakaw, Siaton, Negros Oriental, for being a military informant.

Banagbanag accused Acab of serving as a guide of the 11th Infantry Battalion soldiers in the conduct of a raid against a unit of the NPA in Sitio Balaskan of the barangay in 2020, that claimed the lives of Ka Jorge and Ka MG, and also two encounters in the same barangay in 2021.

Meanwhile, Ka JB Regalado, spokesman of the Leonardo Panaligan Command, in a statement also claimed responsibility in the killing of Ricky Catubig on July 19 in Brgy. Guba, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental.

Regalado linked Catubig, 40, to illegal activities, and of connections with the 62IB.
