The 27th Infantry (Action) Battalion, 10th Infantry (Agila) Division of the Philippine Army successfully conducted a series of Pulong-pulong and Outreach Programs in various Barangays of Toril District, Davao City from May 1, 2023, until May 6, 2023.

This initiative aimed to reinforce the commitment of every community to eliminate the existence of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

The unit’s mission was to sustain peace and order in each community, particularly in areas previously considered the Guerilla Base of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).

The Civil-Military Operations of the 27th IB, led by 1LT EDDIE REY B NAVALES (INF) PA, CMO Officer, organized the program with the help of various agencies and stakeholders.

The event was a resounding success and created a significant impact on the people of the community.

Ms. Magnolia Fernandez Yrasuegui, the station manager of 1197 DXFE AM Radio Station, and the City Social Welfare Development Office of Toril District, Davao City, represented by Ms. Julie Dayaday, OIC of CSWDO, Davao City, as well as the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), played an essential role in extending basic needs from the City Government of Davao.

The lectures on Cultural Sensitivity and CTG’s Infiltration Tactics by 1LT JEFTY ABBE (OS) PA, ITDS Officer of 1003rd BDE, and Culture of Security, EO-41 of Davao City by Pfc Laurence Bruno (Inf) PA, ISA NCO, were the highlights of the program.

The activities concluded with the distribution of food packs to the residents of Purok 5,6,9 and 10 of Barangay Catigan; Purok 1 to 6 and 10 of Barangay Sibulan; Purok 1 to 6 of Barangay Tagurano, and Purok 6 to 10 of Barangay Tungkalan, all of Toril District, Davao City.

The distribution aimed to raise awareness among the people on how to avoid the erroneous ideology of the Communist Terrorist Group.

This week-long activity was a testament to the significance of the interconnected efforts of the unit, the people, and the government in sustaining peace and order and preventing the resurgence of CPP-NPA-NDF infiltration within Davao City.
