CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela- Almost half a million worth of assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program was awarded to the former rebels today, April 03, 2023, at Aliwa Gymnasium, Barangay San Isidro, Luna, Apayao.
The Department of Interior and Local Government and the Apayao Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office joined forces in giving assistance to the 25 former rebels.
Immediate assistance worth 15,000 pesos was given to 23 former rebels while the other two received 50,000 pesos each worth of livelihood assistance and a remuneration worth 46,000 pesos for the surrendered firearms.
On the other hand, the PSWDO awarded immediate assistance worth 5,000 pesos to the said 23 former rebels for additional support for their reintegration process.
The Provincial Task Force-ELCAC Apayao and the 17th Infantry Battalion urged the remaining members of the Communist Terrorist Group to return to the folds of the law and avail the assistance of the government.
It can be recalled that the Provincial Government of Apayao released an Executive Order No. 022 series of 2022 granting a monetary reward for the capture, arrest, or death of a member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) arising from a legitimate law enforcement operation as a support in ending local communist armed conflict in their province.
