From the Philippine Star (Feb 20, 2022): 22 face raps over ambush in Maguindanao (John Unson)
Twenty-two people have been charged in connection with the ambush in Guindulungan, Maguindanao on Feb. 12 that left 10 persons dead and three others wounded.Jordan Mama, leader of an armed group, and his son Morshid were among those charged with multiple murder and frustrated murder, Lt. Col. Cristio Lagyop Jr., spokesperson for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police, said.
Mama’s group and the fatalities, including community leader Pegez Mamasainged, have been locked in rido or clan war over land disputes and politics.
Mamasainged and Mama, who are cousins, are members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
The victims were in two sport utility vehicles on their way to another town when they were attacked.
Three sons of Mamasainged were also killed.
