MAKILALA, COTABATO – Three (3) New People’s Army (NPA) members of Guerilla Front (GF) ALIP, Far South Mindanao Regional Committee (FSMRC) submitted themselves to Congressman Rudy S. Caoagdan of the 2nd District of North Cotabato at 1:00 p.m. today, December 10, 2021.

Alias Jian and alias Rojen both 22 years old and alias Bador 39 years old all residents of the municipality of Makilala decided to return to the folds of the law after finding out that their leader alias Borjack abandoned the armed struggle.

The successful surrender of the FRs was realized through the intervention of Congressman Caogdan who engaged and encouraged them to surrender to the government and choose to live peacefully together with their families.

During their initial debriefing, the FRs disclosed that they turned in knowing that their former leader surrendered to 39IB and realized that armed revolution is not the key to solve the problems of society.

Congressman Caoagdan in an interview said, “The government, most especially the military forces, is so happy to know that our rebel friends have seen the gradual intervention in pursuit of preventing armed conflict. The military is always doing the best approach to make sure that our friends from the other side will turn back to us and help us in our journey of a changed community, a developed and peaceful one.”

The surrenderees are now undergoing custodial debriefing and need assessment for their enrollment to E-CLIP.
