Posted to Kalinaw News (Sep 5, 2021): BARMM, 4ID’s Task Force Oro Collaborate for Peace Initiative in Cagayan de Oro City
CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) collaborated with the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division’s Task Force Oro for a peace initiative at Villa Angela Subd, Brgy Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City on Friday.
Thru the effort of Honorable Sultan Edrieza H. Nasser Rimbang, Al-Hadj, Member of Parliament of BTA BARMM, one hundred (100) pieces of plastic chairs were donated to the Islamic School (MADRASA) of Ma’ahad Sharief Alawi Al-Islamie to support the educational facility needs of its students and teachers.
In support to the activity, the 4ID thru Task Force Oro of the 403rd Infantry Brigade under Lt. Col. Ashary U Pumbaya, Commanding Officer, provided security and manpower assistance to ensure that the activity is safely undertaken and the chairs are provided to the beneficiary Islamic school.
The peace initiative was also made in collaboration with the Philippine National Police and Local Government Unit in line with PRRD’s directive to institutionalize the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace.
During his speech, Lt. Col. Pumbaya said that consistent with the efforts of the 4ID in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), Task Force Oro supports the strengthening of engagements with the most vulnerable sectors of the community and encourages resiliency against any form of threat such as recruitment to join the violent extremists.
“This collaboration with MP Edrieza H. Nasser Rimbang, Al-Hadj addresses the need to encourage the youth to prioritize education and be responsible as future community leaders of their generation”, Lt.Col. Pumbaya added.
Meanwhile, 4ID Commander Maj. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded the initiative of Honorable Sultan Edrieza H. Nasser Rimbang, Al-Hadj particularly in the area where help and comfort is needed especially in addressing the pressing issues and concerns of schools at this time of the pandemic.
“All of us must share and contribute to alleviate the plight of our fellow countrymen in this time of pandemic and complement the government’s peace and development efforts. The initiative is very timely and we hope that Muslim and Christians alike and other religious faith stand on the most important thing today that is sharing our blessings to others”, Maj. Gen. Brawner Jr. said.
The Task Force Oro, 403Bde of the 4ID is committed in performing its mandate to conduct security and stability operations to contain and defeat possible terror attacks of Local Terrorist Groups (LTG) or Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and sustain PCVE in the area of operation in order to protect the communities and vital installations.
