KIDAPAWAN CITY - Two persons were reported wounded in a blast near a police station in Cotabato City in the restive southern Philippine region of Mindanao.

The explosion occurred along Jose Lim Street in the village called Mother Bagua where a church mass was going on. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the explosion.

The wounded Azmad Cader and Marguiana Kalim were rushed to the Cotabato Regional Medical Center.

No other details or reports were made available either by the police or military, but the blast occurred just as Catholics are observing the Holy Week. Other reports said one improvised explosive was also recovered near the scene. (Mindanao Examiner)
