CAMP HERNANDEZ, Dingle, Iloilo – A total of 19 members of different allied groups of CPP-NPA from Sitio Sooc, Barangay Navais, Mandurriao, Iloilo City took their oath of allegiance to the government recently.

The 19 individuals were members and officers of Katilingban Sang Imol Sa Syudad Organisadong Grupo (KAISOG) headed by Mrs Evelyn Pinuela; Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA) headed by Mr Alex Pinuela; Anak-Bayan Francis Pinuela, and transport group led by Evan Pinuela. The Oath of Allegiance is one of the highlights of the Multi-Sectoral Meeting facilitated by the Community Support Program (CSP) Team of the 33rd Civil-Military Operation Company. It was done in collaboration with the Iloilo City Police Office headed by P/Maj. Glen T Jaromay, Officer-in-Charge, Police Community Affairs and Development Unit together with P/Maj. Edfel Balibadlan, Chief, Iloilo City Mobile Force Company; Sambayanan Metro-Iloilo headed by Ka Wennie Doblezo, and Navais Barangay Council headed by Hon. Jj Jhanneigh Mercado, the village chairman.

Brigadier General Marion Sison, Commander, 301st Infantry Brigade lauded the former allies of the CPP-NPA for embracing the right path towards peace. “We are glad that they now have realized that genuine peace and progress can only be achieved through unity. The government cannot solve the problems alone, but with the people and the community on our side, nothing is impossible,” Brig. Gen. Sison said.
