MAGPET, COTABATO – Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Magpet in collaboration with Army’s 1002nd Infantry “Bagwis” Bde and 72nd Infantry “Gabay” Bn awarded Financial Assistance to 6 Former Rebels earlier today, January 11, 2020 at ACP 1002nd Bde, Sitio Estremos, Poblacion, Magpet, North Cotabato.

The said activity is one of the efforts of the Local Government of Magpet to permanently end the insurgency in North Cotabato. This is also part of the programs of ELCAC to convince members of communist terrorist groups (CTGs) to return to the real government and embrace the benefits provided for them along with their loved ones. The former rebels received financial assistance worth 20,000 pesos each.

The activity was an initiative by LGU-Magpet headed by Hon. Florenito T Gonzaga, Municipal Mayor, as part of their commitment in Peace and Order; it was also graced by BGen Potenciano C Camba, 1002nd Bde Commander; LTC Rey T Alvarado, 72nd Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer; Representative and Staff from Municipal Social Workers and Development Office (MSWDO); and Troops and Officers from 1002nd Bde and 72nd IB.

“This is a proof that our Government is sincere in their desire to improve your living conditions. We are very grateful that you chose to return to our real government together with your family and loved ones. This is just the beginning. We will continue to collaborate with various government agencies to sustain a conflict resilient community for all of you” Hon. Florenito T Gonzaga said in his message.
