From the Philippine Information Agency (Nov 14, 2020): 2ID sends troops for disaster response; saves lives after Ulysses onslaught (By PA 2ID DPAO)
CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal, Nov 13 (PIA) --The Army's 2nd Infantry Division mobilized all its available assets for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response or HADR to aid communities in its area of responsibility which are greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses on Thursday, November 12.
This came after MGen Greg T Almerol, Commander of 2ID, directed his Incident Command Staffs to muster all available manpower and equipment before the typhoon struck Southern Tagalog.
"Our responsibilities as soldiers do not end in just securing the land from insurgencies. These disasters have harmed our fellowmen, and we now have to be with them to bring hope during these challenging times."
Per report this morning, troops were able to save five individuals of the Marquez-Paraiso family who were trapped in a landslide at Magsaysay, Infanta, Quezon. The personalities were then immediately rushed to a hospital in Tanay for medical attention.
Meanwhile, other HADR teams deployed in affected areas across Southern Tagalog recorded 67,480 rescued individuals in CALABARZON and 20,273 in MIMARO provinces.
Almerol also reminded his soldiers to always be wary of any possible terrorist attack as these calamities may be an opportunity for the NPA terrorists to take advantage and harm our people just like what they did in Macalelon, Quezon early on Thursday while the typhoon is at its peak.

The 2ID has deployed 86 Search, Rescue, and Retrieval or SRR teams in all typhoon-affected areas under JTF Katagalugan, most especially in the areas of Rodriguez and Tanay for HADR missions.
National Highway Mabitac in Laguna, Lemery-Taal and Laurel-Agoncillo Road in Batangas, and Lopez-Calauag Road in Quezon are reported impassable due to erosion and debris. Meanwhile, Cavitex, Laguna National, and Tanay-Sampaloc Roads remain passable as of this writing.
