CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A member of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters under Bungos Faction (BIFF-BF) was killed in a clash with 90th Infantry Battalion and Datu Montawal Municipal Police at Brgy Pagagawan, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao on August 26, 2020.
The government troops were conducting joint law enforcement operation with local PNP when they encountered 2 members of the terrorist group riding a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle, early dawn at Brgy Pagagawan, Montawal Municipality.
Recovered from the suspects were one Caliber 45 pistol and an improvised explosive device made of 81 mm mortar ammunition. The BIFF member was identified to be alias Abu Master.
Maj. Gen. Diosdado C. Carreon, Commander of Joint Task Force Central, commended the troops of 90IB, for their quick actions that prevented a potential terrorist attack.
