MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Sunday transported locally stranded individuals (LSIs) through two flights to Zamboanga City and Davao City.

In a statement, PAF spokesperson Lt. Col. Aristides Galang said all of the LSIs were subjected to a rapid diagnostic test for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) at the Air Force General Hospital in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City as part of screening protocols.

"Prior to their flight, the passengers underwent rapid diagnostic test for Covid-19 as part of the screening protocol," he added.

A total of 19 LSIs were transported to the Zamboanga International Airport via C-295 medium transport aircraft while another 27 were airlifted to the Davao International Airport through C-130 aircraft.

Galang said these flights are in-line with “Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa” program under Executive Order114 which allows individuals to return to their homes and provinces.

This is to alleviate the hardships they have experienced after being stranded due to the enhanced community quarantine caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
