CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A member of the New People’s Army (NPA), who was wanted for double murder and multiple frustrated murder case for the ambush of soldiers in Balbalan, Kalinga in 2002, was captured by joint police operatives in Balbalan, Kalinga, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera, reported.

PRO-Cordillera Director Brig. Gen. R’win Pagkalinawan identified the suspect as Pancho Diwag Lunes, 54, alias Edgar, formerly a member of the Militia ng Bayan under Lejo Cawilan Command, KLG Baggas, ICRC.
He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Wakas, of Branch 25, Regional Trial Court, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga for the crime of double murder and multiple frustrated murder with no bail recommended.
Pagkalinawan said the suspect was captured at his hideout in Sitio Ubel, Barangay Gawaan, Balbalan, Kalinga last Monday, June 8.
Pagkalinawan added that there was a P700,000 reward for the capture of Lunes.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Balbalan Municipal Police Station.
