From the Philippine Information Agency (Feb 23, 2020): Bobon MTF-ELCAC trains for RCSP implementation (By PIA-8 and NICA-8)
TACLOBAN CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) -- The Bobon Municipal Task Force - End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) in Northern Samar is now capable of implementing the Retooled Community Service Program in its barangays.
The MTF-ELCAC recently underwent an awareness orientation under the SAKM RTF8-ELCAC & PTF8-ELCAC NSamar.
The awareness orientation which was held on February 19 was attended by 75 Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Development Council members of Bobon composed of LGU department heads, Punong Barangays, town-accredited Civil Society Organizations and NGOs.
The participants were led by Vice Mayor Elena Sia-Balite, municipal administrator Reny Celespara and MLGOO Carmelit Diaz.
Also present were Malou Ortega of LGOO-NSamar, Bobon MPS COP PCapt Ricardo Bajawan and 43IB PA Ex-O Maj. Balweg.
LGOO Ortego explained the MTF-ELCAC’s role in the implemention of EO-70 and the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP).
Maj Balweg and PCapt Bajawan took turns in discussing about the security situation and peace and order situation in Bobon and nearby areas.
On the overall, the MTF members were optimistic to carry out the RCSP in some barangays in their town which is noted to be frequented by the CTGs.
Bobon town is among the first in NSamar that declared the CPP/NPA/NDF as persona non grata.
Displayed on the stage of the covered court is the tarpaulin about the town's declaration. This is also displayed at the entrance gate of the Municipal Office. (PIA8/NICA8)
