CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Dec. 23 – In line with the commemoration of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 84th Founding Anniversary, the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division Philippine Army gave recognition to the sacrifices of wounded diamond troopers at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) on Friday morning, December 20, 2019.
MGen Franco Nemesio Gacal, 4ID Commander, together with the General and Personal Staff, visited the battle casualties and non-battle casualties confined at CESH to personally talk to them, check their morale and welfare and distribute Christmas presents.
Five battle casualties received Noche Buena package, cash gift, and tablet while 27 non-battle casualties received Noche Buena package together with their families as an early Christmas presents of the Command in recognization of their selfless service and sacrifices.
PFC Kenly Jertos, 26 yrs old from the 43rd Division Reconnaissance Company who got wounded last December 11, 2019 expressed his happiness and appreciation. “I am very much happy and honored to be visited by our Commander. Masaya ako sir, kasi ramdam ko ang pagpapahalaga and malasakit ni MGen Gacal, salamat po sir and Merry Christmas sa inyo."
Meanwhile, MGen Franco Nemesio Gacal said, “I would like to express the gratitude of the entire team 4ID to all your sacrifices, remember that each of you is a blessing to our Army and our nation. I remain indebted to your services and sacrifices on both combat and non-combat efforts.”
