Amid the conduct of intensified military operation, troops of the 32nd Infantry Battalion, engaged with 10 Abu Sayyaf Group members in Sitio Kan Udang, Barangay Kan Ague, Patikul, Sulu at 9:55 am yesterday (May 5).

A firefight ensued which lasted for 20 minutes, after which enemy withdrew towards southeast direction.

This resulted to the death of one ASG member and the slightly wounding of one soldier.

“The Western Mindanao Command continuously conduct intensified military operations to deter the different threat groups from creating havoc,” said Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega, WestMinCom chief.

“We are also intensifying our security preparations for the 2019 midterm elections next Monday,” LtGen Dela Vega added.

Troops still on hot pursuit to the fleeing bandits.
