NEWS UPADATE: Three members of the 79th Infantry Battalion sustained abrasions following an encounter against 30 rebels of the New People's Army at Sitio Puting Tubig , Baranagy Minautok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental at 05:30 a.m. of May 15. 

The gun battle lasted for an hour afterwhich the rebels had withdrawn.

The injured troops are now in good condition.
