ZAMBOANGA CITY - Hundreds of residents have benefited from the all-in-one outreach mission by the Marine Battalion Landing Team-3 (MBLT-3) on Friday in the town of Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu.

Col. Gerry Besana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer, on Saturday said the beneficiaries are from Barangay Kanlagay, Kalingalan Caluan town.

Besana said the MBLT-3-led outreach mission was aimed at providing free services to the indigents and to bring closer the government to the populace.

He said the services rendered during the one-day outreach mission included medical and dental check-up, eye examination, and haircut, among others.

The outreach mission was participated in by various stakeholders, including the Panamao District Hospital, Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital, Kalingalan Caluang Rural Health Unit, and Eye Global Foundation, Inc.

Besana said the troops envision to do a similar activity in the coming days in other areas of Sulu.
