At around 9AM, March 26, 2019, the AFP, PNP, and the local government of the province headed by Governor Romulo Bacorro, declared the province of Marinduque as a province of Stable Internal Peace and Security in a ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol in Boac, Marinduque.
The said activity was also attended by the following participants and distinguished guests:

The significant part of the ceremony was the signing of Memorandum of Agreement, declaring the province as a Stable Internal Peace and Security (Insurgency Free).
As a backgrounder, Marinduque province was initially recommended to be declared Insurgency Free in July 2009 since no insurgent activity (violent or non- violent) was recorded in the province. After a series of validation conducted by different Intelligence units, the province was finally declared Insurgency Free today, March 26, 2019.
Marinduque is now the 3rd province nationwide to be declared Insurgency free by the AFP and PNP next to Cavite (declared in 2017) and Romblon (in Feb 2019).
