The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said that it will continue with its military operations despite alleged threats made by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) to behead their three foreign hostages.

AFP Public Affairs chief Col. Noel Detoyato made the remark in an interview on Friday.
Detoyato said despite threats made by the militants to behead the three foreign hostages – a Malaysian and two Indonesians – there will be no negotiations and that military operations will continue to neutralize the enemy and to safely free all of their remaining captives.
“We will just continue with our combat operations which are ongoing on right now. We do not negotiate with terrorists and kidnappers,” Detoyato said.
The Abu Sayyaf group has reportedly threatened to behead a Malaysian and two Indonesian fishermen hostages if ransom is not paid for their release.
A video showing the Indonesian hostage appealing to his government to secure his freedom was reportedly surfaced on social media.
The fishermen were reportedly abducted by the Abu Sayyaf militants while on fishing expedition in eastern Sabah waters last December.
Government has assured that it is doing its best efforts to ensure the safe release of the foreign hostages held by the Abu Sayyaf without paying ransom.
Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo explained that the government will not pay any ransom since it will only embolden the bandit group and give it the capability to acquire more weapons and commit atrocities.
