Two suspected members of terrorist Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group (DI-MG) have surrendered in Lanao del Sur, military said Monday.
Western Mindanao Command chief Lt. Gen. Arnel B. Dela Vega said Camal Makalao and Marcos Makalao surrendered to the troops of the Bravo Company, 55th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Sitio Mantapoli, Barangay Tambac, Lumbatan Friday, November 2.
The two also turned over one M16 rifle and one magazine with nine live pieces of ammunition.
Those who surrendered were brought to the headquarters of the 55th IB for documentation and proper disposition.
“To the remaining members of the different threat groups, this is the best time for them to lay down their arms and return to the folds of the law for the chance of living a peaceful life and a brighter future,” Dela Vega said.
