PNP, AFP showcase equipment at Abreeza

From the Mindanao Times (Jun 13): PNP, AFP showcase equipment at Abreeza

THE Police Regional Office XI, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other law enforcement agencies showcased yesterday their equipment at Abreeza Mall in celebration of the 120th Philippine Independence Day.

Abreeza Mall sought to recognize the country’s soldiers and policemen by once again partnering with the PRO XI and the AFP’s Eastern Mindanao Command in the celebration of Independence Day.

The annual celebration, dubbed Kalayaan 2018, carried the theme “Pagbabagong ipinaglaban, alay sa masaganang kinabukasan.”

The exhibit featured a photo display, mock-up camp and display of different equipment of the AFP and the Philippine National Police.

It also included a display of different firearms used by army units, tactical radio equipment, and explosive ordnance device (EOD) equipment. There was also a squad of soldiers.

A patrol boat and some of the diving gears of the Philippine Coast Guard were also presented, along with the Bureau of Fire and Protection-XI’s equipment.

The mallgoers also enjoyed having their photos taken while trying on the combat vest, tactical helmet mounted with night vision googles, and high powered firearms such as the Carbine 5.56mm, M4A1, and the 60-caliber E4 used by the Navy Special Operations Unit (NAVSOU).

The NAVSOU is an elite force of the Philippine Navy used to combat terrorism and other external attacks.

The Tactical Operations Group-XI of the Philippine Airforce and Philippine Navy’s uniform and training equipment were also showcased.
