From Update Philippines (Aug 4): President Duterte says FA-50s from Korea ‘mahusay’, intends to buy more
“I want to build a strong nation. I want to build a strong army,” President Rodrigo Duterte said during the 26th anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Fire Protection at AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on August 2.
“Sa Air Force, I have about 12 new planes. Makabili lang ako ng 24 and that is – FA-50s, mahusay ‘yan from Korea,” the President added. “Madagdagan ko lang naman ‘yan, and some modern equipment for police.”
The President told the firefighters that he intends to build a strong country, “but I have to start with the Armed Forces, police, at kayo.”
He said that “those in government especially connected in the protection of lives and property, pare-pareho. You are no less important than the others.”
“Kaya, you can be very sure,” President Duterte said. “As I have promised also the soldiers and the police, that you will have the priority in spending.”
