From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 11): President Duterte convenes national security council's execom

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte convenes the Executive Committee of the National Security Council (EC-NSC) on Monday at 5:45 in the afternoon, in Malacanang.

The President will lead the EC-NSC to follow through on the agreements reached during the first meeting of the NSC Council Proper that was held on July 27, as well as the EC-NSC on Dec. 12, 2016. Also to be discussed are matters that have recently emerged as challenges to the nation’s security.
The EC-NSC is a collegial body chaired by the President and composed of select members from the legislative and executive branches of government. The membership includes the Senate President and House Speaker, as well as the Executive Secretary and specific members of the Cabinet.

The EC-NSC is mandated to discuss and review national security issues and concerns, the results of which are considered by the President in executing his duties.
