The military claimed to have captured over the weekend what it described as a major camp of the New People’s Army in Mindanao.

Captain Jo-Ann Petinglay, spokesperson of the Western Mindanao Command, said the camp was found Saturday afternoon by troops of the 55th infantry Battalion in Barangay Gala, Tudela, Misamis Occidental after an encounter. 

Seized from the rebel camp were a pair of claymore mines, a rifle grenade, three rolls of wire for detonating land mines, unexploded M203 ammunition, subversive documents, an NPA flag, caps and a bandoleer.
