From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 30): 2 Russian naval vessels in PHL for 6-day goodwill visit

Highlighting the historic thaw between Russia and Philippine military relations, two large Russian naval vessels will be paying a goodwill visit to the country from Jan. 2 to 7, 2017.

Capt. Lued Lincuna, Philippine Navy (PN) spokesperson, said the Udaloy-class destroyer/large anti-submarine ship, Admiral Tributs and the Boris Chilikin-class fleet oiler, Boris Butoma, will arrive at Pier 15, South Harbor, Manila a day after the New Year.

The Russian naval delegation will be headed by the Pacific Fleet flotilla deputy commander Rear Admiral Eduard Mikhailov.

During the visit, a customary meeting procedure will be conducted followed by a welcome ceremony to be rendered by the PN.

Lincuna said there will also be courtesy calls, tour to historical places within Manila and Cavite area, capability demonstration, goodwill games, wreath laying, shipboard tour and send-off ceremony among others.
