Moro Religious Leaders belonging to a local Committee on Daw’ah and members of Civil Society Organizations in Zamboanga City held Forum on Strengthening People’s Organization in the city’s Moro communities. The forum was held on October 23 at Barangay Tulungatung, Zamboanga City.
Strengthening daw’ah activities by people’s organization that can support information-drive against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Moro communities was unanimously agreed upon by participants in support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs.
Brother Pix of UNYPAD gave updates on the current status of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) forged between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Macksu Magang of SIAPAHAN encouraged the Moro Community leaders and representatives of religious sector to adapt to the teachings of Islam being a comprehensive code of life that encompasses all humanity.
Mr. Tirso Tahir of BLMI reminded the audience to be always responsive and adherent to the rule of law by making proper coordination with local authorities when conducting lawful activities in their communities.
Most of the activities conducted and facilitated by BLMI and UNYPAD were in partnership with Moro community leaders being their counterpart in community organizing and other relevant programs.
In its community engagements, BLMI subscribes to the principle and practice of self-reliance as its template through shared responsibilities and volunteerism among Moro constituents for it reflects to the truest sense of Islamic brotherhood, commitment, and determination in their pursuit for long lasting peace and development for the Bangsamoro.
