While the military is still to verify text messages claiming
that the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) will deploy women suicide bombers in its
planned attacks in Metro Manila malls, the Department of National Defense (DND)
announced it is looking at such threats seriously.
"Texts like these have been circulating for some time
and they have proven to be hoaxes," DND public affairs service director
Arsenio Andolong said.
"Nevertheless, we take all of them seriously and we
will certainly look into this one," he added.
Andolong, however, said that they have not received any
intelligence report on the matter as of this posting.
