Eleven Cessna T-41 "Mescalero" primary trainer
planes and nine SIAI Marchetti SF-260 basic trainer aircraft, in a figure
"69" formation, will be making an opener pass over the skies of Clark
Air Base, Pampanga as the Philippine Air Force (PAF) celebrates its 69th
founding anniversary Tuesday.
This year's theme is : “Breaking Barriers, Realizing
Aspirations Towards a Jointly Engaged Transforming Force for Greater Peace and
Security”.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and newly-appointed Armed
Forces chief-of-staff Lt. Gen. Richard Visaya will grace the activity which is
expected to start 2:00 p.m., PAF spokesperson Col. Araus Robert Musico said.
The Chief Executive is the event's guest-of-honor and
speaker. A parade and review will be held to give President Duterte a glimpse
of the state of morale and fitness of PAF airmen and airwomen.
It will also recognize individual and unit achievements for
the past year.
Towards the end is a capability parade that will showcase
ground mobility assets which includes PAF communication vans, combat vehicles
of 710SPOW, Scuba and Reverine teams, PAF ground base defense weapons,
Explosive and Ordnance disposal personnel and equipment, K9 teams, 505 Search
and Rescue Group capabilities, and first responder vehicles.
The pass and review will extent to the flyby of various air
assets of different units including 15 T-41s, 10 SF-260s, AgustaWestland-109
helicopters from 15th Strike Wing, UH-1D and Bell 412 Combat Utility helicopter
from 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing, C-130T aircraft and CASA C-295 from 220th
Airlift Wing.
