From the Philippine News Agency (Jun 6): Army looking for 558,200 rounds of .45 caliber hard ball ammunition

The Philippine Army (PA) is looking for bullet manufacturers capable of supplying it with 558,200 rounds of .45 caliber ball ammunition.

The latter refers to a projectile consisting of a soft core (often lead) encased in a shell of harder metal, such as gilding metal, cupronickel, or less commonly a steel alloy.

The. 45 caliber is one of the official sidearms of the PA along with the 9mm pistol.

Budget for the project is set at PHP12.1 million. Pre-bid conference is slated for July 4, 1 p.m. at the Philippine Army Bids and Awards Committee Conference Room, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Receipt and opening of bids is on July 12, 1 p.m. at the same venue.
