From ABS-CBN (May 27): Police intel officer slain; 3 suspects nabbed

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna - Authorities arrested Thursday three suspects in the killing of a police intelligence officer in Lumban, Laguna.

Senior Inspector Vicente Jarque Jr., Pagsanjan police chief, identified the suspects as Moises Bagabaldo, Nino Flores and Brenn Collin Almario.

Jarque said the three were tagged in the killing of PO3 Dustin Gomez who was gunned down along the National Highway in Barangay San Isidro, Pagsanjan, Laguna on Thursday evening.

Police said the suspects were positively identified by Gomez's wife who was riding with her husband when the victim was waylaid.

A bus conductor, who witnessed the shooting, led the police to an alley where the gunmen escaped after the shooting.

Police recovered a caliber 45 pistol, carbine rifle, and a hand grenade from the three suspects.

Probers have yet to determine the motive of the killing while cases of murder and illegal possession of firearms are being readied for filing against the suspects.
