‘Bees and Marines Train Together at Balikatan

From Seabee Online (May 12): ‘Bees and Marines Train Together at Balikatan

Seabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 participated in Balikatan, an annual Philippine-U.S. military bilateral training exercise that is a signature element of the Philippine-U.S. alliance focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance, maritime law enforcement and environmental protection.

“Balikatan” is a Filipino term that means “shoulder-to-shoulder” and characterizes the spirit of the exercise, focusing on Philippines-U.S. partnership and commitment to the nations’ mutual defense treaty.
