The Philippine National Police-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group
(PNP-AIDG) has filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) a new criminal
complaint against Marine Lt. Col. Ferdinand L. Marcelino.
The new complaint involves the alleged violation committed
by Marcelino in the implementation of the election gun ban of the Commission on
Elections (Comelec).
According to the PNP-AIDG, the firearm seized from Marcelino
when he was arrested in a drug bust operation last Jan. 21 in Sta. Cruz, Manila had no appropriate
necessary documents.
The complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the
"Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002", against Marcelino and
former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) interpreter Yan Yi Shou is
still pending before the DOJ.
