The United Youth for Peace and Development - Relief Assistance Network and Organization, Inc (RANAO) conducted information drive on the current status of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the Basic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BL-BAR) and Normalization in Ranao Region.
The activity is initiated in partnership with The Asia Foundation through the Rapid Response Program supported by the Department for International Development.
Since October 25, 2015, the group has conducted peace forum in the Provinces of Salaguinto Mawarao, Munai, Pantar a Kapatagan, Mamungan and Saber sa Darapanan, five provinces in Lanao Region under the political structure of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Representative of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) Nasiri Abas gave the updates on the BBL and the peace process.
A team from the MILF led by the 2nd Vice Chairman Aleem Ali Solaiman, Majlis Asura Speaker Aleem Zainoden Bato and Chairman of the Hayattul Ulama Rasad Bacaraman also shared their inputs.
Members of the MILF Joint Normalization Committee provided the updates on the 8 Programs of Normalization.
The audiences suggested for wider coverage of the information drive in order to educate more Bangsamoro communities about the status of the peace process.
They were thankful to learn how far the peace talks have gone through as well as the prospects of the proposed Bangsamoro government.
