AFP not involved in extra-judicial killings

From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 3): AFP not involved in extra-judicial killings

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) denied reports that its operatives were involved in extra-judicial killings.

The Commission on Human Rights has tagged the military and New People's Army for committing extra-judicial killings against Indigenous People since 2001.

"The AFP and the PNP and other law enforcement agencies are mandated by the constitution to do their jobs in protecting the people, upholding the laws of the law, now extra judicial killings if there is a member of the military or the police who are involved in things like these, (if) they are accountable and we bring them to the bar of justice, " AFP spokesperson Col. Restituto Padilla afterhe said.

Padilla also said that the communist rebels fighting the fighting the government were the ones who violated the law by committing extra-judicial killings.
