From Malaya Business Insight (Oct 1): PMA told to answer dismissed cadet’s plea
THE Supreme Court yesterday directed the Philippine Military Academy to answer the plea of its dismissed cadet, Aldrin Jeff Cudia, for the release of his diploma and transcript of records, which he needs for admission to the University of the Philippines College of Law.
The SC issued the directive despite having upheld Cudia’s dismissal.
Cudia filed a motion for reconsideration last September 9.
SC spokesman Theodore Te said the PMA was given 10 days from receipt of notice to comply with the order which was issued during the en banc session last Tuesday.
The SC’s final decision upholding Cudia’s dismissal was made last April. The tribunal said the PMA did not violate Cudia’s right to due process when it enforced its rules on discipline, including the Honor Code, for alleged lying about the reason he came late to class.
