A militiaman and a security guard were shot and killed by
still unidentified gunmen in Picong, Lanao del Sur Thursday morning.
The incident took place at 7 a.m. as the victims were on
their way to Barangay Baraas, Picong town, 1st Infantry Division spokesperson
Lt. Col. Audie Mongao said.
He identified the victims as militiaman Marianito Dela Peña
and security guard Roel Maghanoy.
Both men were working as security personnel
of the Matling Industrial Commercial Corporation.
The two were hit by M-14 and M-1 automatic rifle shells and
died on the spot.
The suspects immediately took the M-16 automatic rifle and
M-1 carbine carried by the victims before making their escape.
