For lack of evidence, Armed Forces Medical Center (AFPMC)
commanding officer Brig. Gen. Normando T. Sta. Ana was ordered re-installed to
his post effective Jan. 12.
Sta. Ana and four other staff officers were temporarily
relieved on Oct. 14, 2014 after a certain Renato Villafuerte filed an
irregularities complaint against him and the other officers in August.
AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr.promptly
ordered the conduct of a thorough investigation on the complaints filed against
Sta. Ana and the four other staff officers of the AFPMC.
After thorough investigation, the complaints against the
aforementioned officers were dismissed for lack of evidence to support the
allegations and because nobody testified to substantiate the complaints.
Villafuerte was later found to be a fictitious person.
"Rest assured that the AFP is committed to improve the
medical services for its soldiers and enhance the systems in the
hospitals," Catapang concluded.
