AFP to hold blocked screening of the movie “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” for the benefit of soldiers’ orphans

From the Philippine Information Agency (Nov 13): AFP to hold blocked screening of the movie “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” for the benefit of soldiers’ orphans

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through its Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) will hold a blocked screening of the movie “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” on December 12, Friday, 7:00 PM at the SM Megamall Cinema 9.

The blocked screening is part of AFPEBSO’s fund-raising activities for the benefit of soldiers’ orphans.

The AFPEBSO has been providing educational assistance to some 4,500 dependents of military personnel. It caters particularly to the disadvantaged orphans whose parents perished or were incapacitated in combat.

At present, the system has 257 programs as mandated by law and by partnerships with educational, government, socio-civic, and financial institutions.

Meanwhile, the featured film is the last and final instalment of the three-part film adaptation based on John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’s Novel “The Hobbit.”
